以色列空軍9日，有史以來首次對卡達進行空襲行動，目標是位於卡達首都杜哈的哈瑪斯領導階層。雖然哈瑪斯在事後表示，共六人死於以軍空襲，但所有領導階層，都沒有在這次的攻擊中喪生。卡達當局對以色列發表嚴重譴責，而美國總統川普，也表示「非常不滿」，並強調這是以色列自己做的決定。
