加拿大總理卡尼22號宣布，從9月1號起，撤銷對美國 『符合美墨加自由貿易協定的商品』，反制關稅的徵收，不過加拿大仍舊保留汽車，鋼鐵和鋁的關稅。美國總統川普聽說之後，極度讚賞加國決定，同時表示會再和卡尼聯繫，美加原本瀕臨破裂的關係，似乎迎來轉機。
