巴西警方在18日，對前總統波索納洛的住處，進行突襲搜索，並實施限制措施，包括配戴電子腳鐐和不得在夜間及周末外出，同時也不能和外國使館及擔任國會議員的兒子，愛德華多聯繫。雖然美國總統川普先前，對於波索納洛因涉嫌發動政變等多項罪名受審一事，大感不滿，說這是「獵巫」行動，不過看來巴西是更加強硬執法。
