美國「對等關稅」大限即將在本週三（9日）來臨。總統川普預告，將於7日向十多個國家發出通知信，告知關稅稅率。多位川普政府官員表示，若在9日前未達成協議，這些國家將自8月1日起，被美國實施對等關稅政策。不過，白宮經濟顧問委員會主席米蘭在受訪時透露，若談判國展現誠意，川普可能考慮延後關稅實施，為協商爭取更多空間。
