金磚峰會於6日在巴西里約熱內盧正式開幕，但俄羅斯總統普丁僅以視訊方式參與，中國國家主席習近平則12年來首次缺席，難免讓峰會顯得黯淡。針對金磚國家聯合聲明中抨擊美國近期關稅政策的內容，美國總統川普警告，任何支持金磚「反美政策」的國家，都可能面臨額外10％的關稅。
