英國以茶與咖啡為主流飲品，但近期卻興起一股日本抹茶風潮；在法國巴黎，也掀起抹茶可麗餅流行熱潮。雖然抹茶人氣持續飆升，日本多家生產商卻擔憂「抹茶危機」。原來，相較於中國、印度、斯里蘭卡等茶葉出口國，日本茶葉享有較優惠的關稅，加上川普發動的貿易戰，進一步提升日本抹茶在海外市場的競爭力；然而，龐大需求導致產量難以跟上，供應吃緊問題日益凸顯。
