美國總統川普於當地時間18日，在白宮發表談話，再次重申聯準會主席鮑爾應該降息。這已是川普連續兩天向鮑爾施壓，要求調降利率。部分分析人士認為，川普持續批評聯準會，可能是為即將到來的經濟疲軟預先找人「背鍋」。雖然降息可能推升通膨，但川普的商業帝國基本上不受影響。物價越高，像他這樣的房東反而能提高租金，從中獲利。
