中國國家主席習近平於17日抵達柬埔寨，展開國事訪問，強調中柬「平等互利」的夥伴關係。柬埔寨對中國資金高度依賴，外債中有超過三分之一來自中國。此行被視為習近平深化與東南亞鄰國關係的戰略布局之一。此前，他已走訪越南與馬來西亞，簽署多項合作協議，並共同表態反對美方加徵關稅。隨著美中對峙升溫，東南亞國家夾在兩強之間，面臨戰略抉擇，渴望在競合中尋求平衡之道。
