美國在12日表示已經派員前往俄國，對美方提倡的30天停火協議進行簡報。然而，俄國政府內部的三名高層表示，普丁難以在美國沒做出保證下簽署停火協議。同時，普丁也在12日罕見穿著軍裝，視察庫斯克前線，並下達了俄軍應在近期內，完全收復庫斯克的命令。
