在美國總統川普簽署行政命令，要取消出生公民權後，隨即被多個州提告，一位西雅圖的聯邦法官，23日裁決，發布14天的限制令，暫時阻止了政令的實施，並稱此「公然違憲」。對此，川普表示將上訴。川普陣營也加緊腳步，共和黨眾議員在23日，提出了新法案「出生公民權法案」，要將川普的行政命令編入法條。
