歐洲央行5日決定連續第8次降息，將各大主要利率都降1碼，包括基準存款利率調降到2%，符合市場預期。而這次降息，主要原因是通膨率已達到低於2%目標，不過對美國關稅影響歐洲經濟的憂慮，也是讓歐洲央行再度降息的原因之一。顯然希望透過這次降息，為歐元區經濟注入強心針，提振其發展動能。
