Troia Restaurants to Revitalize Glasgows A-listed Clydesdale Bank into Flagship Dining Venue

The Ivy and The Ivy Asias parent company, Troia Restaurants, has been given the go-ahead to transform Glasgows A-listed former Clydesdale Bank on St Vincent Place into their new flagship spot. The city center landmark, which has been vacant since Virgin Money left in 2023, will be reimagined as a high-end dining venue with outdoor seating along the street.

The Venetian Renaissance building, designed by John Burnet Senior and featuring sculptures from John Mossman, will undergo a full interior overhaul while preserving its original craftsmanship. This setup mirrors their successful Buchanan Street location, where they transformed another old bank into a thriving eatery.

Councilor Ruairi Kelly praised the project, highlighting its significance for Glasgows growth and heritage preservation. Alongside this, the B-listed former Watt Brothers store on Sauchiehall Street is set for hotel conversion, further boosting the citys appeal. These projects demonstrate strong confidence in Glasgows future, combining private investments with public upgrades to revive landmarks and attract more business downtown.
