Show Notes

A Roman Catholic priest in Scotland, Father Stephen Baillie, has been convicted of sexually assaulting a man at his church house. Despite denying the charge, a jury found him guilty of the assault, which occurred after a night out in June 2024. The victim, heavily intoxicated and unable to consent, was subjected to the attack while trying to clean up and even when stepping out for air. Baillie, a first-time offender, was released on bail until sentencing next month, but was immediately placed on the sex offenders register. The Diocese of Paisley removed Baillie from his parish role and launched their own review process following the misconduct.
