Show Notes

The Pink Moon, Aprils full moon, will light up UK skies on April 1st, peaking at 3:12 AM on April 2nd. Despite its name, its more likely to glow orange due to sunlight filtering through the atmosphere. Named by Native Americans for early blooming wildflowers, its also known as the Sprouting Grass Moon or Fish Moon. However, cloud and rain may obscure views in England and Wales, with better chances in Scotland and Northern Ireland. The Pink Moon coincides with Easter and Passover dates, falling as the first full moon after the spring equinox. Full moons occur every 29.5 days, with twelve a year, and the next one, the Flower Moon, will follow in May.
