Joshua Gibson, a young pianist from Queensferry High School, has been crowned City of Edinburgh Councils Young Musician of the Year. He won the Scottish Young Musician Regional Final and will represent his city at the national final in May. Other notable performers include Liza Aquado, who placed second, and Ivar Mackie, named the most promising young musician. In March, over six hundred young musicians participated in various events, with more than five thousand five hundred kids receiving weekly lessons.
