From the publisher
While there are new movies that are fun and enjoyable, they just don‘t have the same impact as the movies we remember as kids/teenagers. So, we figured we were not alone in our nostalgia and created a podcast to entertain people who feel the same as us. We will talk about what made certain movies so memorable. We will talk about a movie so cheesy but still makes us smile. We will share a memory of watching a movie for the first time. Also home to B-Action Podcast and After Hours Cinema with Anna and Pete

Ep 325Maverick - Give Me Back My..
EFrom the desk of Pete: What do you do when you rebrand a long running podcast that has a damn good following? In the case of the dummies over at Give Me Back, you do nothing until 10 minutes before the semi-official launch. Normally in the podcasting world, the hosts of the show will meet to brainstorm and spitball the new direction and hit the ground running with a polished show and new bits. Over at Give Me Back, not so much. As my Pappy always said "you can't spit-shine fecal matter"...wait..."bedazzle your excrement"...no that's not right..."polish your poop"...that was close...."rub out a"...oop...I better stop before Charlie puts me in double secret probation again. That said, the show is going through some growing pains with the exception of the film we picked. Maverick (1994) is the dictionary definition of nostalgic entertainment and the fellas gush over all the memories this film bubbles to the surface. Whether you've seen the film or not, go watch it. It holds up and will have you grinning from ear to ear.
Ep 324Days of Thunder - Need for Speed
EWhat do you do when there's 5 Tuesdays in a month on a show that's scheduled for 4?!!! You throw together a badass crew and cover movies with absolute raw horsepower and testosterone!! That's right welcome to Give Me Back My - Need 4 Speed. This month Charlie, Mickey and Parker drop the hammer and cover one of the great classics Days of Thunder. We get into our love of 80s-90s Nascar, Tom Cruise doing no wrong, and discuss just how much fun this movie really is. So sit down, buckle up and hold on for the first episode of GMBMN4S!!!!!!
Ep 323Enter the Dragon - B/Action
EBoard not hit back...but B-ACTION does! It's the final round of Mickey's March Madness and we're up against our toughest opponent yet, Bruce Lee in 1973's Enter the Dragon! With a deadly martial arts tournament, revenge, espionage, and so much more rolled up into one film we needed some backup from special guests Sean and Joe from Movie Dumpster! Iconic Bruce Lee moments and awesome fight choreography raise the bar for the Kung Fu movie craze of the 70s, with this film introducing Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, and Bolo Yueng to American audiences. Speaking of Americans, John Saxon and Jim Kelly bring the charisma and the kicks! There's something for everyone in this movie and it can't be denied the influence it had on the future of pop culture and film, from Mortal Kombat to Austin Powers to Balls of Fury! Don't just watch Action, B-Action!!!
Ep 322The Condemned - B/Action
EAre you ready for round 3? WHAT?! I said are you ready for round 3? If you wanna see Stone Cold whip The Condemned’s asses in an island battle royale, give me a HELL YEAH! A bunch of idiots thought it would be a million dollar idea to put The Rattlesnake on the World Wide Web and stream a death match for every sorry sumbitch in the world to see, but it doesn't matter if it's that big bastard Nathan Jones or that limey bastard Vinnie Jones, Stone Cold is gonna stomp a mud hole in ‘em and walk it dry! I got a stunner for everyone of these assholes and that's the bottom line…because STONE COLD SAID SO! Don't just watch Action, B-Action!!!!
Ep 321Mulholland Drive - After Hours Cinema
ETonight, on After Hours Cinema: An innocent, aspiring young starlet comes to Hollywood to make it big. Along the way, she falls in love with an amnesiac, hires a contract killer, finds her own dead body, becomes a vagrant and maybe a hooker, lands a huge part in a movie and has an emotional experience at an opera. All of this and many more confusing, yet highly entertaining, weirdness brought to you from the mind of David Lynch.
Ep 320Best of the Best 2 - B/Action
EWe're moving on to the 2nd round of Mickey's March Madness and our next competitor is raising the bar from its predecessor…1993’s Best of the Best 2! The violence gets cranked up to 11 as Tommy, Alex, and Travis get in over their heads with a silver tongued Wayne Newton who is leading them to slaughter at the hands of the mighty BRAKUS!!! The lore runs deep, the bodies pile up, and now Tommy is a Native American?...and his uncle is Sonny Landham!? This one gets wild in all the best ways as things heat up in the month of March! Don't just watch Action, B-Action!!!
Ep 319Mortal Kombat: Annihilation - B/Action
EMickey's March Madness kicks off with a doozy! MORTAL KOMBAT!!!... Annihilation. I know, you may be asking yourself “Why do the sequel?”, well, because it's MADNESS, THAT'S WHY! We all know this one took a turn for the worst: No Christopher Lambert. No Lindon Ashby. No Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa…BUT, we do get an upgrade for Sonya Blade as well as some badass Lin Kuei Cyborg Assassins and a number of other badass characters! Yes the silly factor is cranked up and yes the acting is terrible and yes the CGI is awful, but dudes…it's MORTAL KOMBAT! Don't just watch Action, B-Action!!!
Ep 318Batman 1989 - Action
EFriends, we've hit a nostalgia ceiling that I'm not sure we can ever eclipse. Equal? Probably, but never exceed. I honestly don't remember a time in my life when Batman wasn't around. The earliest memories of my grandfather are playing Batman with him on a rusty swing set. Mickey and Charlie share similar stories as we cover Batman 1989. Well...I say cover...we talk more about Batman memories than we do the film. Please join the three of us as we take a walk down a long nostalgic road and a little bit of movie talk.
Ep 317Martial Law - B/Action
EYou may be cool, but are you Chad McQueen cool?! Actually, you probably are after watching 1991's Martial Law. Derek from Bad Movies, Worse People joins us to talk Karate cops looking to take down a gang of high end car thieves led by David Carradine! There's a BRIEF cameo from Professor TORU TANAKA!!!!...and a lovely helping of the always wonderful Cynthia Rothrock! That sounds like a lot of badass, right?! Yeah…anyway, gotta go, pizzas here! Don't just watch Action, B-Action!!!!
Ep 316The Vampire Lovers - Month of Pete
EMonth of Pete wraps up with two of our perverts: our very own Scream Queen, Anna, and best buddy, Erin, from Manic Movie Monday. This week is certainly a Pete Pick as we cover the Hammer exploitation classic The Vampire Lovers from 1970. Pete's love of Hammer horror movies has been clearly documented. From the acting to the set pieces and the absurdly silly red coloring of blood, it's no surprise that if you throw some boobs into the mix then Pete is 100% on board for this film. Shockingly, even with all the movie's faults, Charlie didn't hate it and that's a win in Pete's book. Please make sure to catch Erin's fantastic show every week on Manic Movie Monday.
Ep 315Shin Kamen Rider - B/Action
EMotorcycles, Monsters, and Masked Riders oh my!!! We had the honor of hosting the Master of Mayhem himself and Overlord Steelhorn’s FAVORITE Give Me Back Co-Host, Pete, in honor of “The Month of Pete”! 2023’s Shin Kamen Rider brings the classic character to a new audience with brutal force and over the top action! The costumes and creature effects take center stage with exciting action with powerful performances and some badass fight choreography. Strap in because things are gonna get real weird, real fast! Don't just watch Action, B-Action!!!
Ep 314Five Deadly Venoms - Month of Pete
EFebruary has arrived and with it another MONTH OF PETE, the best month of the year since Pete gets to pick all the movies. As tradition, Pete has employed some backups to stave off the ire of Charlie and we welcome some of our bestest buddies in the whole crazy podcasting world, Steven and Leo of Spoils of Horror. Pete's action pick this year is Five Deadly Venoms (1978), the seminal pop culture phenomenon produced by the Shaw Brothers. Now, classic kung-fu isn't really Charlie's bag so it will be exciting to hear if it landed with him since most of February Pete picks tend to fall short or more accurately, plop off a rooftop in a stinky wet pile of goo. Uncultured swine. BTW, if you want to understand Pete's "bycocket" joke you'll need to listen to some of the early Spoils of Horror episodes. Which you should be doing anyways, we're just giving you extra incentive.
Ep 313Red Heat - B/Action
EThe final movie for Charlie's "Make You See Red" birthday month is here. The guys follow Ivan (Arnold Schwarzenegger) on his mission from Mother Russia to the mean streets of Chicago to take down a drug lord. We talk about how Russians aren't all bad and that we all agree that this movie is part of the Blues Brothers multiverse! Don't just watch Action, B-Action!!!
Ep 312Virus - Horror
EThe horror side of the podcast kicks off with a film that put Jamie Lee Curtis on the map. She owes her entire career to this one single epic movie that is beloved by all. Halloween? pfft boring. Trading Places? SNORE. No way. I'm talking about the Oscar winning treasure from 1999: Virus. Wait, what? You've never heard of this movie? Well, you're in for a treat especially if your favorite kind of treat is a chocolate covered banana slug. Friends, this movie is bad, but Charlie and Pete ended up enjoying the heck out of its "badness." We definitely knocked it out of the park with this first horror episode of 2026.
Ep 311Red Scorpion - B/Action
EWe're not out of our minds, just out of bullets! Charlie's birthday month is coated in red and we're kicking it off with the most famous movie “Russian” of all time, DOLPH LUNGREN in 1988’s Red Scorpion! As Russian and Cuban forces slaughter innocent Africans, Lt. Nikolai Rachenko begins to realize he may just be one of the bad guys. After a “rocky” breakup with his countrymen, Nikolai goes on a journey to “punish” the oppressors with big guns, big explosions, and tiny shorts that fill the desert landscape with action! The comedic relief and pacing may leave us feeling indifferent, but the dangerous stunts and real African Bushmen leave us in awe of the authenticity! Don't just watch Action, B-Action!!!!
