Show Notes

First and foremost, thank you Ross for your incredible service. Interviewing you is a core memory I will always hang on to. His son Tony says,  "I  didn't idolize sports athletes and celebrities... my HERO was my dad. Ross showed up for his family with quiet strength and unwavering guidance. He won numerous awards (Enlisted Serviceman of the Year in 1979) when he was in the air force for his commitment, excellence and humility."  Ross was a Chief Master Sergeant for 28 years in the U.S. Air Force then another 22 years in the private sector. He was the kind of leader others looked up to, someone whose discipline, intelligence and honor were evident in every mission he undertook. His son said "I didn't need to look to stadiums or stages for a role model. I had the real deal- right at home." I said I have to interview your dad. His son let me know he was moving into hospice, however he wanted to do the interview. That kind of strength even in his final days says everything about the man he was. I am deeply honored and forever grateful that he chose to share his words of wisdom with you and me.

Rest in peace, Chief Master Sergeant- Ross Scardina. 12.2.24
