Hey all! Today we are talking about the Watchmen comic. We will review the new show in a few weeks. Our goal with CBC is to review and discuss some of the biggest staples in comic book history. We will go over both the story itself and it's importance in comics. First is Watchmen by Alan Moore. We came in with a bang! This might be the most important comic book for modern readers because in made adult themed comics main stream. Dark stories that talked mature topics existed before Watchmen but none were as successful or acclaimed. After Watchmen, the world had to start paying attention to the medium as a source for storytelling that was previously ignored and chalked up to child's play. We will introduce the creators of Watchmen, writer Alan Moore and artist Dave Gibbons. Go over the quick synopsis of a New York with caped vigilantes. Discuss some of Watchmen's special highlights like the Nine panel layout and the comic with a comic "Tales of the Black Freighter". Then for the bulk of the review will go go over the entire story from start to finish. We finish thing with sequels, film, and series. As this is our first CBC we ask for your feedback even more than usual. This is a 'heaver' subject than the other comics we will be going over, so expect them to generally be shorter. Both are really a good deal being only $5 a month. In the end it comes down to selection and game development. We then review Ghost Recon Breakpoint. The latest in the Ghost Recon acts as a sequel to Wildlands with Nomad taking the lead again. We are in a very new environment with many new features but some of the excellent controls we've come to expect from Tom Clancy games. Next is a tough one for us. We discuss the scandal out of Blizzard over their ban of a player who endorsed the Hong Kong protests on a post-match stream. As a Blizzard fans we are hurt to see such actions from Blizzard, especially with the approaching BlizzCon coverage we have planned for the podcast. Lastly we do a full recap of the Arrowverse. This is the last season of Arrow and first season of Batwomen. Aer Head is a comic that follows Aer (lifeguard/surfer) as he struggles to control he's ESP. Hey all! We got a busy one here. Lets get some of the side conversations done. First We talk about the Face Off reboot. We all have suggestions for the new leads but I think mine are the most "budget-reasonable". Next, Russo Brothers talk about returning to the MCU. They want to try out some of the new IPs like X-Men and Fantastic 4. The Marvel system tends to wear directors down but these guys seems to be more durable than others. We also briefly discuss Dark Crystal and how we simply cannot get into it. The puppets may not be a medium that works for me anymore. Nothing against the excellent work put into this project. Our big topics start with my Boxwrecker Arena review. This is a fun fast paced puzzler that keeps your adrenaline pumping. We are also giving away 3 copies for Steam! Hey all! This week we have a very full episode. After we dig into a bit of news we talk about the recent Nintendo Direct. For us the big news was the Super Nintendo coming to Nintendo Online. Farther increasing the value of the best deal in gaming. Next is the Apple Event were the announced a new iPhone, iPad, iWatch, Apple TV and Apple Arcade. We will be grabbing Arcade and giving it a test drive. Review will shortly follow. Next up, Squeaks and Frank mostly complain about It: Chapter 2. Hey all! This week we talk about some of the announcement from Disney on the changes coming to their parks world wide. I personally must see this new EPCOT Center. Wouldn't mine the new Star Wars Starship Cruiser is I win the lottery. Next we discuss the big holiday events coming to Universal Studios and Disneyland. Disneyland lets out all their classic villains and Universal sets up a series of themed mazes. This years star is the Stranger Things maze. Lastly we talk about our Top 5 Theme Park Rides. Talking about these makes me want to hop in the car and head to Anehiem. Most of these rides are ones we've been on but a couple are just excellent YouTube videos and stories. This practice is shaming the industry as more companies lean on them for year round income. In an attempt to curve the addiction problem associated with them, the developers have come together to announce a new policy of posting loot odds at the point of purchase. Hey all! We are doing another Top 5. Feels good to do a classic. This time we go over our favorite movie aliens. Going to warn everyone now, no Xenomorph. We do stop to acknowledge the overwhelming love that the Aliens from Alien and Aliens receives from so many SciFi fans. One of my personal favorites was the Martians from Mars Attacks. These guys are hilarious. They only want to vaporize us with all the shiny toys. The way they talk, their fear of birds, that creepy super model spy. How can you not love them! The only Alien that makes both of our lists was The Borg from Star Trek: First Contact. The Borg are relentless. They seek to assimilate the entire galaxy into their collective. Only keeping the beneficial attributes and annihilate anything found not worthy or threatening. Humans are both. In First Contact they decide to pull a Terminator and travel back in time to stop us from getting warp. Warp speed essentially launches your entire space travel career. Picard and the Enterprise follow them in an attempt to keep history in tacked. This is not only an excellent Star Trek story but an example of a powerful and extremely dangerous alien. Before we talk about our favorite E.T.'s(But not E.T.), we go over all the hype for September 20th's Area 51 Raid. Most people have heard of this as it is just peak internet. We go over the humble beginnings of the Airport base at Groom lake and talk about the early testing of the U2 Spy Plane. These are often the excuse for all the UFO sightings. We then discuss some of the theories that surround the base nicknamed Area 51. Everything from Alien bodies to weather control. This inevitably brings up Bob Lazar and the 2018 documentary that has sparked much of the recent interest. Lastly we talk about the Facebook event set up to invade the base. The joke invasion should be fun to watch but we all now there will be some idiots that will take it too far. Best case scenario, we get Burning Man 2 in southern Nevada. Worst case, bunch of dead Kyles that didn't practice their Naruto Running enough. Gotta love the internet! Hey all! We have E3 this week! For the next three days we will be reviewing the news coming out of the conference. First episode we cover EA, Microsoft, and Bethesda. EA tried to create a festival like event called EA PLay. We see updates coming to APEX Legends including an all new ranked mode. Finally I can go for the bronze! Next is the Western Theater update to Battlefield. A rarely visited war front of WW2 that had unique and challenging locations. FIFA 20 is taking it to the streets. Next game will give you 3v3 and 4v4 matches that will feel like a pick up games in local neighborhoods. Lately for EA they talked Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. This was the big one for them. A full game play video shows us level and character design. We remain unimpressed but hoping for the best. Microsoft brought the heat like usual! Project Scarlet is the current title for their next system. It boast a ton of power with a focus on the avid gamer. We also get more news on their streaming future and some updates to Game Pass. As for the games, Microsoft showed off their continued support for Indy developers. These smaller games are growing in popularity. They give more people an avenue to tell their stories their way. For those big games we are looking at Gears 5, Halo Infinite, and Cyberpunk 2077. Gears 5 is getting a new game mode called Escape and has some good looking teasers. Halo Infinite trailer was excellent! But anything with Master Chief is excellent! and Cyberpunk was disappointing because we didn't get any game play …wait…is that KEANU REEVES! Sold! Yes, Keanu is coming to Cyberpunk. Bethesda wraps things up. First lets just get it out of the way, no Elder Scrolls 6. What they did show was Doom Eternal, ES Blades, Fallout 76 fixes, and Ghost Wire: Tokyo. Doom Eternal seems exciting and fun plus we all agreed to give it a try. Ghost Wire looks beautiful but no clue what kind of game it will be. Blades is coming to switch, making a mobile game slightly less mobile. Not a fan to be honest. And Fallout 76 is getting some major love. The two big highlights were human NPC's coming to the game and an added Battle Royal mode. The winner so far was clearly Xbox but with Sony staying home the deck is stacked in their favor. Tomorrow we are reviewing Google Stadia and Ubisoft. Can't wait!
