SoftBank บริษัทร่วมทุนชื่อดังของ Masayoshi Son ถูกบังคับให้โอนเงิน 1.5 พันล้านดอลลาร์ให้กับ Goldman Sachs และเจ้าหนี้รายอื่นๆ ก่อนที่ WeWork จะถูกฟ้องล้มละลาย ซึ่งถือได้ว่าเป็นการลงทุนที่เลวร้ายที่สุดครั้งหนึ่งในประวัติศาสตร์ของบริษัท
การจ่ายเงินจำนวนดังกล่าวทำให้ SoftBank เสียเงินลงทุนไปกับ WeWork มูลค่ามากกว่า 16 พันล้านดอลลาร์แล้วนับตั้งแต่เริ่มการลงทุนครั้งแรกในปี 2017 จากเอกสารที่วิเคราะห์โดย Financial Times
