Michelle Owen is joined by Chloe Morgan and Mark Carey to reflect on the sixth day of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023.

After their euphoric win over Norway in the opening game of this World Cup, New Zealand faced The Philippines looking to all but secure their place in the knockouts.

But The World Cup debutants had other ideas and secured a surprise 1-0 victory against the Black Ferns in Group A.

That result opened the door for Norway to recover from their bad start. They did not take it and played out a tame 0-0 draw against Switzerland.

Colombia and the Republic of Korea entered the tournament with the South American side taking all three points in Group H.

The Athletic’s Harriet Drudge gave us her on the whistle reaction from the Sydney Football Stadium in Sydney / Gadigal.

Plus The Athletic’s Jacob Whitehead brought us the latest news from The Lionesses.
