anarchy (1).......... jesus There were nazis on University of Oregon campus today, and since we are in Eugene, we're reporting back and doing some analysis. The conversation developed into a larger discussion about cultural context, media interactions, tactics, and the nature of anarchism. Berkeley and Pepsi both get shout-outs, too. *This was really off the cuff, we wanted to get this out on the day of. Seeing Jimmy Marr play bagpipes to try and recruit people to fascism made me personally really angry, and it's interesting to hear my kneejerk reaction about how to express that was to just reject my own heritage -The accidental narrative here was separating "antifa" from the POC/Jewish folks, denoting "antifa" are non-Jewish white people, which is not true, but there was some truth at that time in Eugene that "antifa" largely denoted white anarchists -Horseshoe theory is bunk, the piece I was struggling with was realizing just how much anti-Blackness there is in the anti-fascist movement -Hearing me struggle with my own liberalism is real cringe, please listen to other episodes to see my political development -My apologies to Cims for cutting him off so much :/ I was just so excited to talk about this stuff.
