Celia Maldonado Arroyo, a dedicated educator and activist, passed away on January 28, 2026, at the age of 80. She spent over five decades in public service, including 34 years in education and 22 years in community efforts. After retiring from Fresno City College and Fresno Unified School District, she served on several boards, including the Tulare County Office of Education, Radio Bilingüe, and the Association of Mexican American Educators. Her colleagues praised her as a trailblazer and true public servant. She is survived by her husband, son, granddaughter, siblings, and stepchildren.
