Jealousy is a complex emotion often characterized by feelings of insecurity, suspicion, and fear related to a perceived threat to a valued relationship or possession. It can involve a range of emotions like anger, resentment, and inadequacy, and is typically triggered by a perceived rival or someone perceived to be gaining an advantage. While jealousy can be a normal human experience, persistent or intense jealousy can be detrimental to relationships and mental health.
