Women’s Lib has done some good for women, but it’s also done a lot of damage. The rabbis of the ancient world ? and today ? hand selected their students, their disciples, whom they would teach about God’s Law and how they were to live. The disciples or students role was to learn everything they could from him so that their lives mirrored that of the rabbi. Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement is what we’ll continue learning about on Foundations today. It’s the time of the year ? the only day of the year ? when the Jewish High Priest was permitted to enter the Holy of Holies in the Temple to make atonement for the sins of the people. It was also a time of self-denial and we’ll learn about some of the requirements of the people during this sacred time.
