Show Notes
Dottie Davis, a former police officer and domestic violence survivor, releases her new book, Strangled: A Survivors Plea to Men Who Look the Other Way. The book, released on International Womens Day, draws from her life experiences and advocacy for violence prevention. Davis, who joined the Fort Wayne police department in 1981, faced abuse from her husband and stigma from fellow officers. However, she healed and shifted to full-time advocacy, now speaking to mens groups and law enforcement about their role in stopping abuse. The book urges men to take action against abuse.
