Show Notes
With the 2026 midterms approaching, history suggests a tough road for Republicans holding their House majority. In 18 out of 20 midterm elections since 1946, the presidents party lost seats in the House. This trend worsens if the presidents approval rating dips below 50% before the vote. Only two exceptions exist: Clinton in 1998 and Bush in 2002. Redistricting, surprise events, or Trumps poll boost could alter the outcome, but the odds favor losses for the White House party.
