27-year-old Austin Freed, from Fort Wayne, Indiana, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for a Valentines Day 2025 shooting. Freed, who had a grudge against his victim from their time in Noble County Jail, robbed and shot the man, leaving him critically injured. The victim managed to drive himself to a hospital, and Freed was sentenced after pleading guilty to aggravated battery.
