Coach Curt Cignetti, the first-ever national championship-winning football coach at Indiana University, will drive the pace car at the Indianapolis 500. Hell lead the field on May 24th in a new Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X. Cignetti, who turned around the Hoosiers fortunes with a 27-2 record in his first two seasons, earned fourteen out of seventeen national coach of the year honors and was recently honored with Indianas top civilian recognition for leadership and service. His eight-year contract extension averages $13.2 million per year, placing him among the highest-paid college coaches.
