In todays video we dive into the shocking £750,000 fine handed to Nottingham Forest by the FA following the club’s social media posts after last season’s controversial match against Everton. This massive penalty, one of the largest ever imposed by the FA for a social media response, but were Forest justified in their anger and deserve such a large fine?
Forest's social media post came in the aftermath of a highly contentious game, where three major decisions went against the Reds. These incidents fuelled frustration within the club and fanbase, particularly around the involvement of referee Stuart Attwell. The club's social media post highlighted that Attwell is reported to be a Luton Town fan and questioned his impartiality in officiating the match.
The fallout has been severe, with the FA slapping Forest with a hefty fine for breaching its conduct regulations. However, Nottingham Forest have decided to appeal the decision, standing firm in their belief that their concerns about the refereeing were valid and that the fine is disproportionate.
