It was officially announced by the Premier League that Nottingham Forest will be deducted 4 points for their breach of PSR regulations last Monday. The club had one week to decide if they were going to appeal this verdict or not, and news breaking today is that Nottingham Forest feel the punishment is excessive and are to proceed with an appeal.

Nottingham Forest believes they have a strong case for appeal, after originally expressing how extremely disappointed they were with last weeks punishment. Therefore Nick De Marco the clubs lawyer believe they have a chance of reducing the point deduction below the current 4 points, and are not worried about the chance of more points being added on.

But what does this mean for this season, and the hope of the Premier League to conclude all these sanctions before the final game of the season. Well with Evertons 2nd PSR breach still not complete and with Forest now looking to enter an appeal, this could drag on past May and leave clubs not knowing where they stand.
