S9 Ep 13Barry Creyton

Barry Creyton is a much-loved part of Australian television history, thanks to his very creative input into groundbreaking programs like The Mavis Bramston Show and Graham Kennedy's Blankety Blanks. Barry has just released the book of his amazing theatrical life 'Beyond Togetherness - A Life,' which, like Barry, is full of riveting stories of his days treading the boards, acting, writing and directing around the globe. Barry shares some of those memories, plus some insights into how he looks and is so fabulous at the age of 86.    As the last morsels of Easter chocolate disappear, we are up for a final sweet splurge, pitting the irresistible Lindt Balls against the beguiling Ferrero Rochers in the weekly Food Poll.   Presented by Sarah Patterson & Kevin Hillier Broadcast each Sunday on the ACE Radio Network - https://aceradio.com.au/ Catch us also on: Radio 2DD - Easy Listening - On Line - https://www.2dd.online/ Follow us on Facebook...https://www.facebook.com/foodbyteswithsarahpatterson/ Twitter & Instagram - @sarahfoodbytes Post-production by Chris Gates  for Howdy Partners Media  © 2026See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S9 Ep 12Steve Liebmann

Steve Liebmann is a class act, something he showed radio and television audiences on a daily basis during a career in which he started as a fresh-faced 13 year old in his home town of Cooma. What an amazing life and career that followed. Lucky for us, Steve shares some of his 'pinch me' moments and life-changing experiences that make this 81 year old as charismatic a storyteller today as he was in the halcyon days of the Today Show. As you would expect, given his jounalistic background, Steve has strong opinions on the modern media landscape and he shares those too. One thing that hasn't changed over the years is Steve's special kitchen skill.       And we've got a Roll Poll for voters this week as if plucked from the supermarket cake aisle, with the classic jam roll versus the somewhat mysterious chocolate roll.

S9 Ep 11Scherri-Lee Biggs

Scherri-Lee Biggs is a most interesting human being, with a rich and colourful story to tell - from her teenage modelling days to representing Australia at Miss Universe 2011, to a television career than has now landed her a role as the Melbourne weather presenter on National Nine News. As a working mum, Scherri-Lee juggles many roles including hiding vegies in spag bol, packing kinder lunches and raiding the news desk snack jar.   The Food Poll is brought to you by the letter P and may or may not include the vegetable pea as well. We pit the pie against the pastie. S9 Ep 10Effie

She is a comedy goddess and a romance goddess, but is Effie a kitchen goddess? All will be revealed when everyone's favourite former hairdresser turned superstar joins Sarah and Kevin this week. As she prepares for her Melbourne International Comedy Festival Show 'Frigid to Feral,' Effie shares some of her worldly thoughts on a smorgasbord of subjects including menopause, coffee, kitchen gadgets and even some from her marital boudoir! Like everything Effie does, it is wickedly unpredictable. The snack aisle gets a guernsey this week as the Food Poll pits Cheezels against Burger Rings in a preservatives battle for the ages.      'Frigid to Feral'  Effie's new show is at the Melbourne Comedy Festival from April 14th. S9 Ep 9Elizabeth Hewson

Elizabeth Hewson is a wearer of many aprons - home cook, recipe writer, columnist, wife, mother and author of the beautiful and practical new book 'Home Food' (Murdoch Books). Elizabeth's food philosophy is easy to understand and achievable because, as she says,  sometimes dinner just needs to be dinner, not a Hollywood production with bells, whistles, oohs and ahhhs, but comfort food that embraces the imperfection, the mess and the reality of our modern lives. Elizabeth shares her two secret ingredients and even works the old BBQ chook into the show.      Recent show guest Danny McGinlay inspired this week's Food Poll: it's a toastie up against the jaffle.

S9 Ep 8Danny McGinlay

You can't help but like Danny McGinlay. Not only is he funny, clever, smart (and punctual), he smells good - even on radio and podcasts. One of the hardest-working comedians on the circuit, Danny does it all, from The Front Bar to his Comedy Festival shows, the Danny/ Boyd Bulldogs podcast and his infamous AFL match day banners, his performing plate is always full, but what about the ones in the McGinlay kitchen? Danny's love of a baked bean jaffle is no laughing matter and his cooking tip highlights a much underrated chicken option.  As well as conducting his own private Twisties poll, Danny has some thoughts on our Food Poll this week as we ask for a yay or nay on cottage cheese.

S9 Ep 7Luke Darcy

Luke Darcy is a Western Bulldogs star in his own right and a former high profile media star to boot. These days though, it is being dad to the AFL's hottest property - Sam Darcy - that is shaping his media appearances. But wait, there's more. Sam's eighteen year old brother Will has been drafted to the red, white and blue as well. Food Bytes dragged Luke away from his parental duties to chat about his life, his dubious kitchen skills, the food that is his kyrptonite and a media career that crossed paths with Sarah's in the early hours of weekday mornings on Triple M's Hot Breakfast with Eddie McGuire, where even the coffee was special.  This week the Food Poll is a Scroll Poll with coffee, custard, cinnamon and cheeseymite scrolls vying for their 'pick me' moment. Which would you choose?     Presented by Sarah Patterson & Kevin Hillier Broadcast each Sunday on the ACE Radio Network - https://aceradio.com.au/ Catch us also on: Radio 2DD - Easy Listening - On Line - https://www.2dd.online/ Follow us on Facebook...https://www.facebook.com/foodbyteswithsarahpatterson/ Twitter & Instagram - @sarahfoodbytes Post-production by Chris Gates  for Howdy Partners Media  © 2026See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Peter Fisher was part of one of Australia's most successful TV comedy shows. And even though Kingswood Country finished over 40 years ago, people still remember him for his role. But as you will discover in this week's episode, there is much more to Peter's life than playing Craig Bullpitt.  Peter took his acting skills and training to the corporate world with great success. S9 Ep 1Lord Ian Botham OBE

It is our pleasure and privilege to have one of the greatest cricketers of all time on the first proper episode for 2026, and 'proper' is the correct term, as our guest is Lord Ian Botham of Ravensworth in the County of North Yorkshire, OBE. But he happily answers to 'Beefy.' A passionate winemaker, we discover more about his range of Sir Ian Botham Wines and how hands-on he is in every facet of the business. Naturally, cricket did come up and Beefy shared some strong opinions about the game and the modern players, as well as a scary encounter with our own Mervyn Gregory Hughes in the NT. That isn't the most frightening revelation, though, as his Lordship details his love affair with the Collingwood Football Club.     It's a pub grub Food Poll to kick off 2026. What is your favourite pub meal ... steak, burger parma or fish and chips?  Presented by Sarah Patterson & Kevin Hillier Broadcast each Sunday on the ACE Radio Network - https://aceradio.com.au/ Catch us also on: Radio 2DD - Easy Listening - On Line - https://www.2dd.online/ Follow us on Facebook...https://www.facebook.com/foodbyteswithsarahpatterson/ Twitter & Instagram - @sarahfoodbytes Post-production by Chris Gates  for Howdy Partners Media | www.howdypartnersmedia.com.au/podcasts © 2026See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S8 Ep 52Best of 2025 Volume Two

As we sharpen our Ginsus in preparation for a slashing start to the new year, here we take a brief moment to reflect on some of the incredible people who joined us in 2025.  International television icon Alison Arngrim shared stories of the role that changed her life - playing Nellie Oleson on Little House on the Prairie. She also served us up a very special scrambled egg tip. Steph de Sousa told us about her MasterChef experiences and how keeping the kitchen as a happy, simple and fun place isn't that hard. What a revelation she was.  Despite not getting the accolades he thinks he deserves for his kitchen prowess, former Australian cricketer Simon O'Donnell regailed us with his thoughts on the mighty Brussels sprout and what might have been in his sucessful acting career.  And the final words for 2025 involve Sooshi Mango, meat pies, tinned spaghetti and Hawaiian pizza.
