DaCosta recently became the first black female director to have a #1 movie at the box office with the terrifying reboot of the cult classic horror Candyman. Little Woods debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2018 to critical acclaim, particularly applauding Tessa Thompson and Lily James’ performances. DaCosta is directing the upcoming sequel to Captain Marvel, The Marvels, starring Brie Larson and Teyonah Parris.
