“Evgeni Malkin’s 1,000th NHL Game” PIT@CHI 11/20/22

“Evgeni Malkin’s 1,000th NHL Game” PIT@CHI 11/20/22 Last night in Winnipeg, Tristan Jarry and the Pittsburgh Penguins played hard-and-smart for the FULL sixty minutes of regulation. They got rewarded, in the form of their very first shutout victory of the season. Following a historically bad losing streak, the Pens needed two things to come together in order for the team to feel stabilized. For one, they needed to play their game for the entirety of three periods. Then they were going to need their top goaltender to ratchet-strap the payload down to the bed of the bed of the pickup, chisel the ice off the tow hitch, and get back to work. Forget the recent 7 game losing streak, because when it comes to playing on the road in Chicago, the Penguins haven't won in that barn since 2009. So on the night Geno hits the 1.000-game mark, I'm hoping we see the Penguins throw that particular monkey off their back.
