“A Date With NJDestiny” PIT@NJD 04/04/23 This morning in New Jersey, the Penguins woke up, still in control of their own playoff destiny. And tonight, in Brick City, USA the Penguins will attempt to secure what would be nothing short of a Major Statement Victory against an excellent Devils team. Sidney Crosby and his team know well that tonight’s game, as challenging as their opponent may appear on paper, presents an opportunity for Pittsburgh to bank two crucial points in the eastern conference wildcard race. If you’re Mike Sullivan and the Pens, this is a night when you and your guys need to box above your collective weight class. Such an unlikely feat is one these Penguins will be required to achieve, on a regular basis, from now until the first offseason tee time is scheduled - regardless of how long they manage to put it off.
