Fish Orders and Families

Rob is a huge nerd. He thinks about fish all the time. He does not think about eating them. Fish and fishing was a huge part of Rob's childhood from indoor trips to the Baltimore Aquarium and Eugenie Clark's labs to his youth snorkeling the coral reef in his grand parents back yard. Rob read every fish and fishing book at this local library as soon as he could drive there. Rob sat in the front and center seats in his ichthyology and vertebrate zoology classes. He also taught high school biology for several years. And now he teaches people about the fish they catch and then throw back.

Consider yourself a student in Rob's class on basic fish taxonomy for fly anglers. Learn about the names of fish and their place in fly fishing vernacular.

You'll catch more fish now that you will learn about fish, what they look like, how they move, where they live, and mostly what they eat.
