Cs: Ve Wenceslasově náměstí v Praze bylo plno lidí a zvuků.
En: In Wenceslasově Square in Praha, there were lots of people and sounds.
Cs: Konal se tam tradiční festival ledových soch.
En: A traditional ice sculpture festival was happening there.
Cs: Na mnoha místech stály oslnivé ledové sochy, které se třpytily pod zimním sluncem, ale počasí bylo teplejší, než se očekávalo.
En: In many places stood dazzling ice sculptures, sparkling under the winter sun, but the weather was warmer than expected.
Cs: Led pomalu tál a umělci byli pod tlakem.
En: The ice was slowly melting, and the artists were under pressure.
Cs: Jirka, zručný řemeslník účastnící se festivalu, pracoval usilovně na své soše.
En: Jirka, a skilled craftsman participating in the festival, was working diligently on his sculpture.

Cs: Socha sice trochu roztála, ale Jirka získal čestné uznání za kreativitu.
En: Although the sculpture had melted a bit, Jirka received an honorable mention for creativity.
Cs: Zaujal i majitele místní galerie, který k němu přistoupil a nabídl mu možnost vystavit některé jeho práce.
