Sr: На Калемегдану, тамо где се река Дунав сусреће са Савом, магла се лагано дизала.
En: At Kalemegdan, where the Danube River meets the Sava River, the fog was slowly lifting.
Sr: Камени зидови тврђаве бацали су дуге сенке на споро промрзло тло.
En: The stone walls of the fortress cast long shadows on the slowly freezing ground.
Sr: Вук је стајао испред, затегнут и одлучан.
En: Vuk stood in front, tense and determined.
Sr: Овде је започела његова потрага, потрага коју је пре само неколико година обећао свом деди на самртној постељи.
En: It was here that his quest began, a quest he promised his grandfather on his deathbed just a few years ago.
Sr: Породична реликвија, изгубљена пре много векова, лежала је негде унутар ових зидова.
En: A family relic, lost many centuries ago, lay somewhere within these walls.

Sr: Легенде су говориле о тајном пролазу, али место је било као лавиринт.
En: Legends spoke of a secret passage, but the place was like a labyrinth.
Sr: Док су ходали, Милан је проучавао стару карту.
En: As they walked, Milan studied the old map.
Sr: "Требало би да потражимо велики зид према северу," сугерисао је Милан.
En: "We should look for the big wall to the north," suggested Milan.
Sr: Било је хладно и влага се увлачили у њихове кости, али Вук је осећао жар свог обећања.
En: It was cold, and the dampness seeped into their bones, but Vuk felt the fervor of his promise.
Sr: Небо је већ почињало да трепери звездама, а град Београд приправно је чекао ватромет и славље.
En: The sky was already starting to shimmer with stars, and the city of Belgrade was readying for fireworks and celebration.
Sr: Коракнули су у тамни пролаз.
En: They stepped into a dark passage.
Sr: У даљини, светионик лантерада понекад би осветљавао њихову стазу.
En: In the distance, the beacon of a lantern occasionally illuminated their path.
Sr: "Ово мора да је тај пролаз," речно устукну Вук, гледајући у надгробни натпис на зиду, натпис стар века.
En: "This must be the passage," Vuk cautiously exclaimed, looking at an epitaph on the wall, a centuries-old inscription.
Sr: Јелена је изложила светлост фењера, показујући место где је камен изгледао 'другачијим'.
En: Jelena shone the lantern's light, showing the spot where the stone looked 'different.'
Sr: 'Тамо!
En: "There!"
Sr: ' узвикну Вук, пруживши руку да помери камен.
En: shouted Vuk, reaching out to move the stone.
Sr: Са тихим и прашњавим треском, камен се измести, откривајући скривену комору.
En: With a gentle and dusty thud, the stone shifted, revealing a hidden chamber.

Sr: Како су звуци новогодишњих ватромета грациозно обухватили тврђаву, Вук је отворио сандук, и тамо је лежала реликвија, заносна и нетакнута.
En: As the sounds of New Year's fireworks gracefully enveloped the fortress, Vuk opened the chest, and there lay the relic, enchanting and untouched.
Sr: Сузе су му наврле у очи.
En: Tears welled up in his eyes.
Sr: "Деда, успели смо," прошапта.
En: "Grandfather, we did it," he whispered.
Sr: Време је успорило док су се Вук и његови пријатељи загрлили.
En: Time slowed as Vuk and his friends embraced.
Sr: Они су донели нову наду за своју породицу, али и ново знање о вредности људи који стоје уз нас.
En: They brought new hope to their family and newfound appreciation for the value of people who stand by us.
Sr: Са првом минутом нове године, Вук је осетио да је испунио обећање, и да ће увек памтити овај дан када је пријатељство донело част и обновило заједништво.
En: With the first minute of the new year, Vuk felt he had fulfilled his promise and would always remember this day when friendship brought honor and renewed fellowship.
