S2 Ep 7Fleet Safety Geeks - Seat Belt Safety
Seat belts are one of the most important safety features in your car. They can help prevent you from being seriously injured or killed in a crash. In fact, seat belts are so effective that they're estimated to have saved over 374,000 lives in the United States since 1975.But even though seat belts are so important, many people still don't wear them. In 2020, only 85% of drivers and front-seat passengers were buckled up. That means that one in five people were driving or riding around without a seat belt. Not wearing a seat belt is a dangerous decision. In a crash, an unbelted driver or passenger is 45 times more likely to be killed than someone who is buckled up. And even if you survive a crash, you're more likely to be seriously injured if you're not wearing a seat belt.So please, make sure to buckle up every time you get in a car. It's the simplest thing you can do to protect yourself and your loved ones in a crash. Thanks for listening to the Seat Belt Safety Podcast. I hope you'll join me again next time as we continue to talk about this important topic.

S2 Ep 6Episode 6 - Protect Yourself From Catalytic Converter Theft
This week, the Fleet Safety Geeks discuss the rising trend of catalytic converter thefts and provides tips on how to protect yourself from becoming a victim. The theft of catalytic converters is a growing problem, and it can be costly to replace the stolen part. But also, people are being assaulted by trying to confront the thieves. To prevent catalytic converter theft, the Fleet Safety Geeks suggests several measures that vehicle owners can take. One of the easiest ways to deter thieves is to park your vehicle in a well-lit and populated area. Thieves are less likely to target a car that is parked in a busy area with a lot of foot traffic or under a street light.Another recommendation is to use a catalytic converter lock or shield. These devices are designed to make it more difficult for thieves to access the converter and can be installed by a mechanic.Lastly, vehicle owners should be vigilant and report any suspicious activity. If you see someone underneath a car or attempting to remove a catalytic converter, call the police immediately.Overall, by taking these steps, vehicle owners can help protect themselves from being assaulted but also potentially avoid the costly expense of replacing a stolen part.

S2 Ep 1Driver Safety - The Forgotten Side of Safety Training
It is true that driver safety is often overlooked in safety training, despite the fact that it is an essential aspect of personal and public safety. Motor vehicle accidents are one of the leading causes of injury and death worldwide, and many of these accidents are preventable with proper driver safety training and education.Effective driver safety training can help individuals develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to operate a vehicle safely, including understanding traffic laws, basic vehicle mechanics, and safe driving techniques. This can be delivered through a variety of methods such as classroom instruction, online training, or hands-on practice.Additionally, Employers also have an important role to play in promoting driver safety within their organization. By promoting safe driving practices and providing regular training, they can help reduce the risk of accidents and injuries and promote the overall safety of their employees and the general public. It is also important to remember that safety is not just the responsibility of the driver alone.
