This is not a First Amendment issue. He wasn’t peacefully protesting. There is plenty of video showing him actively blocking ICE vehicles before the shooting. That matters. This is also not a Second Amendment issue. He wasn’t walking down the street, minding his business, and accidentally flashing a concealed carry gun. He was in direct physical conflict with law enforcement while armed. According to reporting, he had allegedly been “on duty” the week before, tracking ICE, and had been taken to the ground by agents, injuring his ribs. This time, when he went back “on duty,” he brought a gun. I understand why people instinctively hesitate to side with federal law enforcement. I really do. But if we’re being honest, this situation demands a clear-eyed assessment—not emotional reflexes or ideological posturing. If the political alignment were reversed—if this were someone at a protest you agreed with—would you still argue the outcome was justified? In this case, my answer is still yes, the individual was at fault, regardless of ideology. As gun owners, we talk constantly about personal responsibility. That responsibility includes knowing what situations you do not escalate, especially when armed. A fight you cannot win is a fight against law enforcement officers when you are carrying a firearm. The moment you insert yourself into a physical confrontation with LEOs while armed, you are the one escalating the situation. Everyone knows this. This is not new. As far as the US Citizens that interact with ICE, yes they are 99% detained and released upon verification of status. The 1% that are arrested/hurt are the people who escalate the Interaction instead of cooperating, like Jeremy said. Sincerely, Nate PS Ryan here’s an attachment for something you’re in dire need of Weerd: Oddball: David: Drink Segment: Old Crow Boubon Whiskey Sour: 2oz Whiskey (Rye is classic) 1oz Lemon Juice 0.5 Oz Simple Syrup (adjust to taste) Cinnamon Challah Ingredients 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour 2 eggs and 1 more for egg wash 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast 1 packet 3 tablespoons brown sugar ⅓ cup olive oil 1 teaspoon salt ⅔ cup warm water Filling ¼ cup canola oil ¾ cup brown sugar 2 teaspoons cinnamon Instructions Add the flour, brown sugar, and salt to a mixing bowl. Proof the yeast in the water with a pinch of sugar. Add the yeast, eggs, and oil to the flour. Mix into a dough and knead for 7 minutes or until fully developed. Cover and allow to rise for 1 hour in a warm place. While the dough is rising, make the filling a medium sized bowl. Add the oil, sugar and cinnamon. Mix. Separate the dough into 3 pieces. Roll each one into a square with a rolling pin. Spread the cinnamon-sugar mix on the dough, leaving a 1/2 inch around the edges. Roll each square. Pinch the ends and stretch each strand to about a foot long. Braid them up! Place on a non-stick baking surface and cover for 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 375°F Brush the challah with beaten egg. Bake for 30 minutes. If the top is getting too dark, place a piece of foil on top of the challah in the oven. Providing Medical Care During Civil Unrest 1. The Most Common Injuries Seen in Civil Unrest Blunt Trauma Common causes: Falls Being pushed or trampled Baton strikes Thrown objects These injuries can range from minor bruising to serious head injury or internal bleeding. What to look for Pain or swelling Deformity suggesting fracture Difficulty moving a limb Head injury symptoms: Confusion Vomiting Severe headache Loss of consciousness Basic treatment Move the person out of the crowd if possible Apply ice or cold pack if available Immobilize injured limbs with a sling or improvised splint For suspected head injury, keep the person still and monitor mental status If symptoms worsen (confusion, vomiting, severe pain), they need EMS evaluation Key reminder for listeners Blunt trauma in chaotic environments often gets ignored — but head injuries and internal bleeding can worsen over time. Lacerations Common causes: Broken glass Debris Improvised projectiles What to look for External bleeding Deep cuts with visible tissue Embedded debris Bleeding that soaks through clothing Basic treatment Put on gloves if available Apply direct pressure with gauze or cloth If bleeding continues, use a compression bandage For severe extremity bleeding, apply a tourniquet Cover the wound with a clean dressing Additional considerations Do not remove deeply embedded objects If the wound is large or continues bleeding, the patient needs hospital care Key reminder The vast majority of life-threatening bleeding can be controlled withpressure and time. Respiratory Irritants Common exposures: Tear gas (CS) Pepper spray (OC) Smoke from fires These agents cause severe irritation but are usually temporary. Common symptoms Burning eyes Tearing Skin irritation Coughing Shortness of breath Disorientation Basic treatment Move the person to fresh air immediately Encourage slow breathing Flush eyes with copious water or saline Remove contaminated clothing if heavily exposed Avoid rubbing eyes or skin Important notes Oils, lotions, or milk can sometimes trap irritants against the skin Most symptoms improve within 15–30 minutes once exposure stops Red flags requiring EMS Severe breathing difficulty Asthma attack Persistent confusion Heat and Dehydration Common causes: Long hours outdoors Heavy clothing or gear Stress and exertion Limited access to water Symptoms Dizziness Weakness Headache Nausea Muscle cramps Heavy sweating Basic treatment Move the person out of the sun or crowd Have them sit or lie down Provide water or electrolyte fluids Use cooling measures Shade Wet cloths Fanning Red flags for heat stroke Confusion Collapse Hot dry skin Seizures Heat stroke is a medical emergency. Psychological Stress Reactions Crowd environments can trigger intense emotional reactions. Common presentations: Panic attacks Hyperventilation Acute anxiety Disorientation What to look for Rapid breathing Shaking Crying Feeling unable to escape the crowd Basic treatment Move the person to a quieter, safer space Speak calmly and reassure them Encourage slow breathing Inhale through the nose Exhale slowly through the mouth Help them regain orientation and control Often, simply removing the person from the chaotic environment dramatically improves symptoms. “The key point here is that most injuries in these environments are not exotic trauma cases. They're the same things EMS treats every day — bleeding, falls, heat illness, and panic — but they're happening in a chaotic environment where help may take longer to arrive.” 4. Basic Medical Kit for High-Risk Gatherings Emphasize compact, discreet gear. Essentials Nitrile gloves Gauze / compression bandage Tourniquet Saline or water for eye irrigation Simple airway mask Electrolyte packets Small flashlight Optional but useful Chest seal Trauma shears Space blanket Eye protection Basic first aid medications Practical considerations Avoid large visible medical packs Keep supplies distributed in pockets Maintain mobility 5. What is a good scope for hunting in the woods/mountains (think appalachia). i currently hunt in NC and WV and im looking to get a higher end scope. The farthest ive shot and can see is about 200 yards but my scope get blurry at that distance. Im currently using a Vortex diamondback 3-9 but would like to go higher to ensure better shot placement.
