KEY TAKEAWAYS
-
No one ever wants to see a teenager or any kid’s dreams get crushed. It’s unimaginable how an injury destroyed Trenell’s dream to become a pro football player and also to leave him paralysed from the neck down.
- He’s forever grateful for his supportive family. His disability requires thorough assistance, and they were and still are right beside him.
- The Trenell Effect: The 7 Principles of Perseverance is Trenell’s gift to the world—what he wants to be his legacy. Every time he gets a chance to share his story, he sees that everyone leaves inspired and motivated to achieve their own goals too.
- The ‘Trenell’ Effect stands for Take Action, Resilience, Encourage, Never quit, Evaluate, Learn, L
- "You can have everything in life you want if you'll just help enough other people get what they want"
- Start with yourself, always. It’s easier to encourage others to do their best when they see that you feel encouraged too. Despite Trenell having special needs, he’s formidable, especially mentally and emotionally. He’s confident that he can help you to have the right mindset and beliefs so you can control your own life to success.
- He’s had his bad days too. He admits that his accident also caused depression, and it was quite difficult to understand and get out of it. But once he did, he told himself that he’ll never go back there again.
- Never quit. Always know that there’s nothing wrong in trying again (and again and again). There is never a big enough challenge you cannot overcome. Be patient, and persevere. If Trenell was able to reach wherever he is right now (despite everyone else telling him he couldn’t), then you could too.
BEST MOMENTS

- “If you can look up, you can get up.”
- “You have to encourage yourself to help others flourish. When you feel encouraged, you can help others feel encouraged.”
