Film director Pedro Pinho chats about his new film, I Only Rest in the Storm. It's a haunting, slow-burning drama from Portuguese director Pedro Pinho. It follows Sérgio, an environmental engineer who relocates to West Africa for a job that quickly entangles him in the region’s colonial past and present tensions. As he forms complex relationships with two locals—Diára and Gui—he begins to unravel the mystery behind his predecessor’s disappearance, confronting uncomfortable truths about identity, power, and belonging. The film will be making its North American premiere October 5, 2025 and October 6th, at the 63rd annual New York Film Festival. Visit their website.
