FTF Ep. 32 - Open Cup or Bust After Defeat at Cincinnati

Hey, Fire fans! We're all in on the US Open Cup, right? After the defeat to FC Cincinnati, the Chicago Fire need to focus on their best opportunity to do something meaningful this season. And from the way they played in Cincinnati, they already were. Interim manager Frank Klopas rolled out a 5-4-1 formation and played for a draw from the opening whistle. He rotated his squad and tried to preserve his defense, but once again, the Men in Red couldn't hold onto points late. Lucho Acosta scored the winner for FCC in the 83rd minute, and the Fire left Ohio with nothing to show for their efforts. Tune in as our host breaks down the stats and the disappointment of the match. In the 2nd half of the show, Nick looks ahead to the US Open Cup where the Chicago Fire will face the Houston Dynamo. The Dynamo have had a more impressive Cup run than Chicago so far, but a single-elimination tournament can produce many surprises. The Fire will need to create much more on offense than they have in their recent stretch of games to have any chance of claiming their 5th USOC Trophy - which would be an MLS club record. Twitter - Facebook - Spotify - YouTube
