Kim Mulkey and Dawn Staley hate each other. They’re combatants in the most compelling and heated feud perhaps in the history of sports. The war between the two might be a more compelling storyline for women’s college basketball than the ascension of Caitlin Clark, and the bitterness between Mulkey and Staley will fuel women’s college basketball after Clark enters the WNBA abyss. You can clearly see the fault lines whenever the schedule dictates that Staley’s South Carolina Gamecocks face Mulkey’s Louisiana State Tigers, and that's exactly what happened in the SEC Championship game. As usual, an ugly war ensued. For the better part of four quarters, the teams exchanged elbows, shoves, taunts, and trash talk.
