In this episode, we sit down with Brenton Maarman, a passionate wine enthusiast and dedicated educator. After completing his BSc, Maarman pursued an MSc and has since devoted himself to teaching as a lecturer at the Elsenburg Institution.

Maarman is a member of the Primary Production Council at SAWIPB, with a remarkable journey in the wine industry that began at a barrel-making company. This experience allowed him to interact with wine owners and gain valuable mentors. Coming from a family of teachers, Maarman realised that his true calling lay in education. He has beautifully blended his passions for teaching and the wine industry in his role as a lecturer.


Maarman’s story is nothing short of inspiring as he continues to impart knowledge to the next generation in viticulture and oenology at the Elsenburg Institution.
