In this episode of our Farmer Mentor series, we sit down with Karabo Mahlaba, co-owner of Mahlaba Eagles Farming in Reitz, Free State. Their 300-hectare farm founded in 2012 by Karabo's grandfather, Samson is called Hoekieplaas.
There, they cultivate grain and soybeans on a commercial scale. They also have cattle sold on auction or to abattoirs. In the episode we learn about Mahlaba Eagles Farming’s decision-making process and crop rotation schedule.
