And peace and blessings be upon the honor of the Prophet and the messengers. Muhammad Rasulullah, peace and blessings be upon him, and peace be upon him. Tasslim and kassir. Aqwa ma'adu. My brothers and sisters, alhamdulillah, I am sitting here in the Masjid al-Nabiyy al-Sharif. We just finished Salat al-Fajr; we finished a khutbah given by one of the ulema of the Haram on the importance of Tawheed, on the importance of not making shirk. The khutbah was for one hour. And you will see the people who are here—the place is jam-packed, including little children like this little one running around here. No disturbance, sitting peacefully, sitting respectfully, and listening to the khutbah. This is the meaning of Tawheed. May Allah grant us the Tawheed to make proper Tawheed for our children. It's not difficult. I'm seeing it here. If others can do it, you can also do it. It's a question of whether you have the will to do it. This Masjid is very special, not only because it is holy and you get the Sawa of One Thousand. In Makkah, you get the Sawa of One Hundred Thousand. Not only for that reason, the main reason why this Masjid is so special is because this is the Masjid from which the work of Dawa started. The Hijri calendar was decided which should be time zero to start from. They chose not the birthday of Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam but their... The day he came to Madinah, the day of Hijra. And that gives us a huge indication of what is important in Islam. What is important in Islam is to practice Islam yourself and take the word of that to the rest of the world. And that is what makes this Masjid so powerful and so special, because this is where it started from. Every time I come here, I look at the faces. SubhanAllah, there is every category represented. People of different colors, people of different ages, people who are healthy, wealthy, and wise, people who are the opposite, the young, the old, people from every village of the world. They all congregate here. They come for Umrah. And then they come here out of love for the Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, because visiting Masjid al-Nabawi wa Sharif is not part of the arkaan of Umrah. If somebody just comes to Makkah, makes Umrah, and goes back, he has not committed any sin. But he has also not expressed his love for Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, because how can you come to the Hijaz and not visit the Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam? Because that shows the level of love for Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. There is no other way. The love of His Rasool is shown by following His Sunnah. There is no point in saying you call yourself an Aashiq, a Rasool and this and that. And then all you do is celebrate his birthday, Mawlid and Mawlud and Milad or whatever you call it. All of which is against the Sunnah. He never did it; never told anyone to do it. So you call yourself an Aashiq of the Rasool, someone who loves him, and then you show that love by disobeying him, by doing something which is not something he did. The idea is to show our love for Rasool SAW by following his Sunnah, by doing what he did, by saying what he said, by acting the way he told us to act. And that's what makes this Masjid special. This is the Masjid from which it began. Imagine when Rasool SAW built this Masjid. Today we have this beautiful, beautiful structure, amazing architecture, you have enough power which powers this Masjid. The electricity in the lighting, the air conditioning, and so on is literally enough to light up a middle-sized city. That's how much power is used here. And then of course all the cleanliness of it and it is very beautiful, very, very beautiful. Think about when Rasool SAW built this Masjid. It was a small structure, it had a thatched roof, it had no lighting in it, it was a mud structure. Now think about that if Rasool SAW at that point wanted to build a permanent structure, he wanted to spend money on lighting, if he wanted to have a decent floor, if he wanted to have a decent roof, believe me, all of that was possible, all of that could have been done. There was enough money to make it happen because there were people like Sa'ad bin Affan RADELANOO and Abdurahman bin Awf RADELANOO; all that needed was an indication from cafe of done all this. But what did Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam do? Did he spend time and money on architecture or did he spend time and money on the amal of the masjid? What did he focus on? Did he focus on the work of the masjid? Why are you here? What are you doing in the masjid? Did he focus on the ibadat, the khushu and khudu in the salah? Did he focus on the struggle for Islam? Did he focus on charity? Did he focus on akhlaq of being nice to people? Sumama bin Uthal, who was the great chief of the Banu Hanifa, when he was captured and brought to the Masjid, he was tied to one of the poles, one of the pillars which were holding up the roof for three days. And every day, the Prophet would ask him, what do you say about Allah and me? Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, meaning, are you ready to accept Islam? He said no. And he said to him, Ya Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, if you want to ransom me, just name the amount. Whatever you say will be given to you. He said, if you want to kill me, then remember that I will be avenged. My people will take revenge. There is no doubt about that. So it's your choice. Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said no, we don't want to kill you. And we don . . . So they untied him; they let him go. He went; he went to one of the dead gardens. He drew water from the well, he took a bath, he changed his clothes, and he came back to the masjid, this same place here. And he said, ashadu allah ilahe illallah, ashadu allah muhafaza rasuluhah. Huh? What changed him? Just three days of being in the Masjid. Nobody gave him direct dawah. Nobody invited him. Even the Vishwasam didn't invite him to the Sahab. He just asked him, are you ready? That's it. Right? Nothing. He just saw the actions of the Masjid. He didn't see the chandeliers because they were not. He didn't see the marble because they weren't. He didn't see the carpet because they were not. He saw the amal. He saw the actions of the Sahab. And then he said, now tell me what should I do? He was on his way to Omara when he got captured. So Vishwasam said, go make Omara. And he said, call out like this. Allahumma labbayk. Labbayk la sharika laka labbayk. Inna alhamda wa al-ni'mata. Laka wal-mulk la sharika laka. This was the first time that Talbiyah was called out, was decided. The first time. And the man who did that was Sumama bin Uthal. He became Muslim. He went there. When he called out the Talbiyah, the Quraysh got after him. The Quraysh tried to beat him. But others stopped them and said, do you know who this man is? He said, this man controls the roots from which our grain comes to Makkah. You touch him; he stops that; you will starve. So they didn't kill him. But obviously, they were not happy. And Sumama, when he went back to his lands, he actually stopped the caravans. And Makkah started starving. And this is after Suleyman Abbas. He was in Libya. So the Quraysh came, he said, O Rasulullah, please tell your men not to stop the caravans because we are starving. We have no food. And the Prophet sent him a letter saying, let them go. Now the reason I'm saying all this is because this is the place, this masjid, alhamdulillah, these are the amal of this masjid. Salah and sawm and tilawat al-Qur'an and the talib al-Islam and tajkith al-Nafs. All of these are the amal of this masjid. Salah and sawm and tilawat al-Qur'an and the talib al-Islam and tajkith al-Nafs. All of these things are the amal of this masjid. And the purpose of reminding ourselves is that we must therefore replicate these things in our places, in our masjid, in our homes, so that we show the picture of Islam that Rasulullah brought. Today all our problems today are linked to this. The malaikah are ready to help Muslims. But where are the Muslims? I think about this jirood al-malaika, the armies of the malaikah; they came down for who? They came down for the Muslims. What Muslims? Which Muslims? The Muslims who were like Abu Bakr and Omar and Osman and Ali and Talha and Zubair. Ruz today if the armies of Malaikah if Allahﷻ sends them and says go help the Muslims believe me they will come here and they will say they will go back to Allahﷻ and they will say Ya Rabb where are the Muslims who are these Muslims we didn't find anybody because when we are checking this is the standard we are using who is a Muslim somebody like Abu Bakr somebody like Omar who is a Muslim somebody like people like Talha and Zubair these are the Muslims Muslims are not people who deal in interest Muslims are not people who backbite and slander Muslims are not people who drink alcohol Muslims are not people who stab each other in the back they are not Muslims at least the Malaikah will not recognize them as Muslims so we ask for the help of Allah and as I said if Allahﷻ sends the Malaikah they will go back to him and they will say Ya Rabb we didn't find anybody we went there to help but they did not find anybody But there is nobody. Who should we help? Think about this. Abdullah bin Umar entered the masjid one day, and he said, if Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam comes back here, he will not recognize any of you. Who is this? This is a Sahabi. He's talking about his time. What do you think Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam will do if he came out from there, from his hujra, and he looked around this? Who will recognize? Who will he recognize? We ask for the Ruya of Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. We say, Allah show us,
