And peace and blessings be upon the honorable and the most merciful. Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and upon all of his family and companions. And peace and blessings be upon him, and upon all of his family and companions. And peace and blessings be upon him, and upon all of his family and companions. Brothers and sisters, we have been talking about the four, what I call the universal truth. So what is the first one? Time passes. Time passes. Second one? Liking doesn't matter. Liking doesn't matter. Third one? Anyone third one? Liking doesn't matter. Two ways to learn life's lessons. Smart way and the dumb way. Smart way is learn from others. Dumb way is go through it yourself. Now it doesn't mean that everything can be learned from others. Something you will go through yourself. But if you take the help of experience, then you reduce the amount of pain you need to suffer. Fourth universal truth. That learning has four steps. Learning has four steps. Number one, diagnosis. What is it that you need to learn? What is the problem? Think about it like going to hospital. The most important thing in the hospital is not all the information. Not the qualification of the doctors. Not the medicine. It is can they pinpoint what is wrong with you? Can they find your disease? Right? If the diagnosis is wrong, nothing will work. Number two? Intervention design. What will work for what you have? You got a certain disease. What is the cure for it? Number three is implementation. What is the cure for it? What is the cure for it? What is the cure for it? What is the cure for it? What is the implementation? Actually applying the cure. And number four is monitoring results. Seeing does it work or does it not work? Is it working or is it not working? Now, these four things are possible only in face-to-face dealings. Now, this is the reason why the importance of the muslih, The importance of the person to correct, The importance for the person to correct, The importance for the person to correct, teacher. Right? So, face to face, you cannot learn these things just like you cannot learn, just like you cannot cure a problem you have, a disease you have, by talking on the phone to the doctor, it doesn't work. You've got to go. He has to look at you, he has to examine you physically. Right? He's got to poke you somewhere, is it hurting? He's got to put you on a scanner and take you out. All this has to be done. And just like you can't watch a YouTube video on what is wrong with you and prescribe medicine for yourself, first of all, it's illegal, secondly, it'll kill you. Same thing. Same thing. So, watching videos and TikToks and online courses, doesn't work. This is the, the biggest mistake people make with regard to learning Islam. They think that learning Islam is like learning God knows what, you know, anything else. Any theory thing. Learning history. You can learn history by watching a video or reading a book. I mean, how else do you learn history? You can't go back in time. But learning Islam is like learning to cook. You have to do the stuff yourself. Right? No matter which video, you have to do it yourself. It's like, it's like martial arts. You have to do it yourself. Only then will you understand it. Only then will you, will you, will you have a feeling for this day. Okay, this is how it feels to, is to fall. This is how it feels to save yourself from falling. And so on and so on. So, it's very important. Physical, personal presence. So, it's not that you can't learn anything online, but the quality and the application of it, not for online. But therefore, what must you do? First and foremost thing to do is to focus on your legacy. What do you want to be remembered for? As this question to yourself, what do I want to be remembered for? And write the answer. Because one day we'll be gone from here, you know. You will go from this world itself, or you will go from whichever location you are in, or you go somewhere else and people will think of you. How do you want them to think? What do you want them to think? Right? Gaining popularity is the easiest thing in the world. For example, if I hadn't told you to come from there to here, I'm sure you would have said, I'm sure my popularity index would have been higher than it is right now. Right? What good is that? What good is that? You learn something now which is of lasting importance. In Hadith Jibreel, which is one of the most important Hadith in our body of knowledge in Islam, Hadith Jibreel came, that whole incident happened in the last year of Rasulullah's life. So it was like a culmination of everything in Islam, the key points Jibreel came and he taught. And that begins, how does Hadith Jibreel begin? It begins with the way to sit in a class. Hadith Jibreel begins with the way to sit in a class. Hadith Jibreel begins with the way to sit in a class. It begins with the other. Sayyidina Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, who narrated the Hadith, he said a man came and he was wearing clothes which were extremely white and there was no sign of travel on his body or his clothes and his hair was extremely black. And he stood at the back of the majlis because Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam was sitting in his majlis. There were people around. Place was full. He stood in the back. He asked for permission to come forward. He didn't go and leap over people or step over people. The Prophet ﷺ gave permission. He came and he sat. How did he sit? He sat with his knees touching. First of all, he sat in the position of Tashahud. And he sat with his knees touching the knees of the Prophet ﷺ. Then he leaned forward and he put his hands on the knees and the thighs of the Prophet ﷺ. So we learn two things here. One to do one thing to do and one not to do. Which is, you come and sit right in front of the teacher. You don't sit in the back. You don't sit somewhere. You don't hold up the wall by leaning against it. The wall can stand by itself, believe me. You come and sit in front of the teacher. The others, like he sat with his knees touching the knees of the Prophet ﷺ when he put his hands on his knees. This is specific to that incident, specific to Juhail-e-Salam and to the Prophet ﷺ. This is not what you do. The Sahaba never did that. They never touched the body of the Prophet ﷺ. Out of respect and reverence. Now Juhail-e-Salam did that first of all because he is also a Rasool and Rasool as-Salam is also a Rasool. So they are, that semblance is there. Also because he wants to draw the attention of the people. And the Sahaba said, this is very strange. We never do this. Who is this man? And then the way he asked, Ya Muhammad. They never said, Ya Muhammad. They said, Ya Rasool Allah ﷺ. And then when he gave him the answer, he said, that is right. He said, what? This man is asking a question and he is saying it is right. And so on. There is beautiful hadith. I won't go into that. But the point I am saying is, what do you want to be remembered for? And to understand that, think of any person. Think of anybody you know. You could even think of people who don't know like public figures and so on and so on. But think of somebody you know. And think about what image. The moment you think about that person, what image comes in mind? Right? What is the image that comes in mind? This is how you will be remembered. This is how you will be remembered. When people think of you, what is the image which comes in mind? And you will find that the images always are images of your interaction with them. What? What did they do for you? It's almost never an image of what did they have? How much did they have? What money did they have? Which car? Those are all trash. What was my interaction? What did the person do for me? And that's why I say, therefore, use things, not people. Value people, not things. popular people power you that's why we have given you the business. Searing the surface around you, avoiding the shame. We have relationship, part of the relationship. And we sort of newly built that relationship around it. But in truth, I would say that we had reached an unprecedented level. We have neverenment that is so도 if you get angry and use some language, which you know you should not use, which is haram, the result of that will be there till the day the other person dies, believe me. They will never forget. No matter what you do, you can go and beg and grovel and fall at their feet and take their shoes and slap your face with it, nothing will change. You should do all of those things, of course, depending on what you said. But, what came out of your mouth, came out of your mouth. What is the way to avoid that? Don't let it come out of your mouth. Control your tongue. That is why Rasulullah ﷺ said, he held his tongue, the sadis, he held it like this. And he said, this will take more people into Jahannam than anything else. Just the talking. Slandering, backbiting, foul language, telling lies, false witness, you know, everything. This is all tongue. It's all tongue. Every one of them has the potential to land you in Jahannam. Because the problem with these things is, Allah will not forgive you until the other person forgives you first. And on the day of Jahannam, my brothers and sisters, you will be forgiven. This is the last thing you're going to get. Everyone is looking out for himself. Everyone is looking out for himself. If they come to your mom and say, are you okay with me throwing your son into Jahannam and you go to Jannah, your mom will say, do it right now. Why are you asking me? Huh? Believe me. So choosing the short term, which is to satisfy your ego, I got angry, I cursed somebody and I feel nice. For the long term, which is not, that is the memory that person is going to have
