My brothers and sisters, Ramadan is the month of changing our lives. Ramadan is the month of forgiveness, seeking forgiveness and forgiving others. We have the hadith of Abdurrahman ibn Auf, may Allah be pleased with him, which states that Ramadan is the month of giving, the month of investing, the month of giving as much charity as we can give with the intention of investment with Allah ﷻ. We have the hadith of Abdurrahman ibn Auf, may Allah be pleased with him, which is mentioned in Musnad Imam Ahmad, where he said, the meaning of which that Rasulullah ﷺ said, there are three things concerning which by the one in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad ﷺ, I would certainly swear an oath. And what are those three things? He said, the number one, the first one, wealth does not decrease because of charity. In another hadith, Rasulullah ﷺ said, if you are having financial difficulties, give charity. Charity is that which enhances your wealth. So wealth does not decrease because of charity. So give charity. The second thing he said is, no person, no man pardons another, no man forgives another for some mistreatment, seeking thereby the pleasure of Allah, but Allah will raise his status because of that. So forgive each other. And the third one he said is, no one asks from people, no one extends his hand to people asking and begging for their help. He said, but Allah will increase him in poverty. You beg from Allah, Allah will give you and decrease your poverty. You beg from people, Allah will increase your poverty. And this is the hadith in Musnad, Imam Ahmad. Qubada bin Thamid, may Allah be pleased with him, said that I heard Rasulullah ﷺ saying, there is no person who suffers an injury to his body, and then he forgives the other person who caused this injury, but Allah will absolve and forgive his sins, commensurate with the extent of the charity—meaning the bigger the injury, the more sins will be forgiven. We ask Allah to protect you from all injuries, and to protect you from all sorts of injustice by anybody. But if this happens, and in life these things happen, the best option is forgive the other person. Just walk away, forgive them, walk away, and ask Allah to forgive you and to, as the Prophet said, increase your status and elevate your status before Him, and to help you in ways which we cannot imagine. And may Allah bless the noble Prophet ﷺ, and his family and companions, with Your mercy, O our Lord.
