All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
And peace and blessings be upon the honour of the prophets and messengers.
And praise be to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and upon his family and his companions.
And many, many thanks.
And then what?
My brothers and sisters,
Death is not something unique.
It's not something that we are shocked with.
Death is a part of life.
Allah announced and Allah told us,
All souls taste death.
And indeed, you will be rewarded on the Day of Resurrection.
So whoever is shaken by the Fire and enters Paradise has won.
And the life of this world is nothing but the
death of all living things.
Allah says,
Every living thing will die.
Every living thing will die.
And you will surely get your full reward on the Day of Judgment.
And then Allah gave us a criteria.
Who Goshhzeh An-Nari Wa takiego ah
is such a person whom Allah finally mentions to Him
and Who will that班 خَرَ tangled in live that other person?
Well, strength,
So the first thing we do is we make du'a for your mother, our sister.
May Allah grant her Jannatul Firdausul Aala bi Ghairi Hisab.
May Allah fill her qawar with Noor.
May Allah ease the path onwards for her.
And may Allah give her and keep her and deal with her in a way that she could never have
imagined in keeping with His Majesty and His Grace and His Generosity.
Then Rasulullah said in the famous hadith in Muslim, Abu Hurairah reported that Rasulullah
said, when the human being dies, when the son of Adam dies, all his deeds, all her deeds
come to an end.
A'n Abi Hurairah radiallahu anhu qaal, Qaal Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam,
Izaa maata bani Adam intafa' aamaluhoo illa min salaas, sazaqatu jaariya, au ilmu yantafa'
bihi, au waladun salihun yad'u lahu.
Rawahu Muslim.
When a person dies.
All deeds come to an end.
So the first thing we understand from the ayat which I recited is the criterion of success.
It's not how much money you have, which car you drive, what kind of house, none of that.
Will you and I be freed from the hellfire and will we get Jannah?
This is the criterion of success.
Nobody can know for sure, so we keep on trying to be among those people who, inshallah, will be given Jannah.
By staying away from everything which Allah prohibited, by doing what Allah told us to do,
and by making a lot of istighfar, because no matter what we do, we will make mistakes, we have to.
Allah has left the door of tawbah open, we use it.
From the hadith, which I narrated, one part of it just...
I'll tell you this now and the rest we'll see, inshallah.
Rasulullah said, all deeds end with death.
So the first thing we understand from that is what?
Do it now.
Anything good that you want to do, do it now.
Don't wait till tomorrow because we don't know, nobody is guaranteed tomorrow.
Do it now.
Go to the masjid to pray, don't wait for somebody to bring you to the masjid.
When you have money, give charity.
Don't wait for a time, when?
Because of life and things, you will not be able to give charity.
Don't wait to do something good, which requires physical effort.
If you have not done hajj, go do hajj.
Don't wait until now you are so old, you cannot do and your fard is still not fulfilled.
Whatever you do.
Whatever good you think of doing, do it immediately, don't postpone it.
And then Rasulullah said, all deeds end with death except three.
Illa thalath.
One, sadaqatul jariya.
Two, any knowledge, beneficial knowledge.
Two, any knowledge, beneficial knowledge.
Three, the knowledge that you have been given, you teach it.
And three, children who are salihaeen, who are good children, who are pious children,
who make dua for you.
Now think about that, these three things also refer to the actions of the individual himself or herself.
Sadaqatul jariya, who is going to give it?
You.
My sadaqatul jariya, who must give?
I.
Ongoing charity, something which continues after you die.
Build a masjid, build a madrasaheb, build a school, build a hospital, build a road, build a bridge, whatever is of benefit.
It does not necessarily have to be a masjid.
Alhamdulillah, this is very good, but it's not restricted to masajid and madaris.
Any action of good for Allah.
Any action of good for the world.
Sadaqatul jariya.
Teaching knowledge, you can teach or you can help somebody else to teach.
All of that comes as part of teaching.
Beneficial knowledge, again beneficial knowledge, obviously religious knowledge is very important.
That should be, that is the first part, but that is not restricted to only religious knowledge.
It's not only a question of teaching Quran and Hadith.
Teaching anything of benefit.
And the third one is children who are pious.
Whose children are pious?
Children of people who are pious are pious.
Who will go to the masjid?
Your children.
When will your children go to the masjid?
If you go to the masjid.
Every once in a while I have this question.
Why is nobody, why are the children not here?
So anytime anybody asks me that question, I ask them, where are your children?
I know how many children you have.
Where are they?
You come alone and you say, why are the children not here?
Whose children?
You come with your children, then you can say.
But you cannot even bring your own children.
You want somebody else to bring their children.
Is it going to happen?
Children.
Children.
Having said that now, going forward, there are some things which Rasool
told us which we can do.
Meaning our near and dear one, our father, mother, whoever has passed away.
Now you can say, well, what can I do to help my mother?
And Nabi told us what we can do.
The reason I'm saying that is it's very important in all our actions to adhere to
the sunnah of Rasool Allah .
There is no action which is superior to the sunnah of the Nabi .
Not something from our culture and this one and that one and so on.
So told me no.
The sunnah.
What is the sunnah?
Number one, dua.
Dua begins with Salatul Janazah.
Salatul Janazah itself is dua.
The word sala there is not sala as in qiyam and sujood.
There is no qiyam.
There is no ruku.
There is no sujood.
Sala there is in the linguistic meaning of dua.
So Salatul Janazah is dua for the janazah which we have handuilla.
This was prayer.
Now, any dua you make throughout your life.
Please understand one thing very clearly.
In Islam for an ibadah to be accepted, for worship to be accepted, it must be according
to the way of the Rasool .
We cannot create our own.
I cannot say for example for dua for your mother please come on Wednesday after Maghrib
and we will all sit in a circle and we will turn the lights off and we will have only
one small light and then you will read this and I will read this.
No.
There is no authority for any of that.
Dua.
Allah has opened it.
Why do you want to restrict it?
For what?
When should I do dua?
All the time.
Your mother raised you.
My mother raised me.
I am not doing dua.
My mother raised you.
My mother raised me.
When should I make dua for my mother?
The whole time.
The best time to make dua for your mother, for me to make for my mother is in sajda in
tahajjud.
So if you really love your mother, make tahajjud further on yourself.
From today you will never miss tahajjud till you meet Allah.
In tahajjud, in sujood, make dua for your mother.
Best.
There is nothing superior to that.
You can make dua in tahajjud in your own language.
You don't even need to know Arabic to do any of that.
In farsala you need to know, but other than farsala, no.
Tahajjud in sujood.
If I really love my mother, that's what I must do.
Alhamdulillah, I do it.
No. 2.
Charity.
Any act of charity that you do, mali ibadat, jisai hum gayate urdu mein.
Maliyy ibadat jisai hum gayate urdu mein.
Any act of charity that you do, and make dua and say,
Ya Rab, the sawab of this, please give it to my mother.
Now that way you also get, Allah SWT does not take away your sawab.
You will get the sawab, plus it also goes to your mother.
So any kind of charity.
Then hajj, umrah and fasting.
These three.
You can do for your mother.
After you have completed your own hajj, then you can do hajj for your mother.
You can do all these three.
You can do all these three.
You can do all these three.
You can do umrah for your mother or father or whoever.
And you can also fast for them.
Roza.
You cannot do dua, you cannot do salah for them.
You can fast for them.
Right?
I'll send you all the text of all the hadith and so on for Dalil in case you want to read it again.
We have the hadith of Buraidah.
Abdullah bin Buraidah, Radha Allah Anhu.
And he said the Rasulullah, he said I was sitting with Rasulullah, a muban came.
And he said my mother, I gave my mother a slave in charity.
Now my mother has died.
Nabi said, you have, Allah gave you the reward for charity and you got your inheritance back.
Then the lady said, my mother had one month of fasting left.
Then the lady said, my mother had one month of fasting left.
Can I fast on her behalf?
Rasulullah said, yes.
Then she said, my mother could not go for Hajj.
Can I do Hajj on her behalf?
Nabi said, yes, you can do Hajj on her behalf.
So this shows that there is, you can do Hajj on behalf of whoever passed away and you can also fast.
But you cannot pray.
So please understand our salah we have to do ourselves.
Nobody can do for us.
Now the fact that somebody can fast for you does not mean that you deliberately miss your fast.
No, I'm saying in case something is left and so on.
Right.
Fardh fast is Fardh, Roza is Fardh Roza.
There's no playing game with that.
Then fulfill any vow, any khasm that they had done.
If you know, and if they said that if I, if I do something, you know, this is much what I will give in charity and so on.
Fulfill that for the person who passed away.
This is also from Sadaka Jaaryan.
And final is in Udiya, in Qurbani, in Eid-ul-Adha.
Then you can have, you can do a share for the person who passed away.
