Alhamdulillah. Alhamdulillah. Alhamdulillah. Alhamdulillah., And the day that course was to be taught, I barely managed to reach the place because there was a snowstorm. And there was snowstorm warning and so on. So it was bitterly, bitterly cold, horrible driving conditions. But my thing was, I have given my word that I'm going to be there and I'm going to be there. There is no compromise on my word because my word for me is by bond. So I landed up there. With great difficulty. Parked the car and very, very slowly, very scared of falling, walked across the parking lot into the building. And I'm sitting in the classroom getting ready to teach. The time comes. About five minutes after the time, two ladies walking. And both of them were from the IRS. And that's it. Two people. And there were over 20 people. And 22 or 25 people registered for the course. Just two people came because the weather was so horrible. So after about five minutes, I introduced myself and so on. And then I said to them, I said, ladies, what do you want me to do? Because just two of you have come. And 20-something registered. But I don't think anyone is coming because of this weather. So what do you want to do? They said, what? What are the options? I said, the option is that you two stay here and I will teach you. We'll do the entire course, the whole day. I will teach you. And you decide if I'm going to teach you the way I would have taught 25 people or not. That's up to you. But I will teach you. Other alternative is you go home, I go home. But given the weather outside, I don't know how you are going to reach home. I definitely don't want to try and get stuck somewhere on the road. So it's your call. So they said, well, if you don't mind teaching us two people, we'll be obliged. We'll be honored. We'll be very happy. And I taught two people. Six hours of teaching. I did everything the way I would have done if there had been a room full of people. And that built for me a reputation which people talked about and which resulted in more work for me at a time when I really needed work. So to come back to Sahil Bloom, he says, Take the discovered scale. My son taught all his friends how to domain Windows Phone. I put weren't Ghent I know him in ajurp. And I sent him his skills. And he did the thing. Really? No. They got I had the convenience. I don't think I also get the I have to томуdim other. You know, somebody. People will have an cału me really good friend. And I'm a junior. I'll not anymore. I'm Valium who is veryλ hg expected me the region of Singapore, because Es Mutual lecture. I have been to the country for six years. Now I had come here myself. Gods is not fresh on my hands. but I've been for years. Do you know the? Yes, I see. your worst. Top performers show up with energy and enthusiasm for the little things, just as much as they do for the big things. One of my favorite stories of Kobe Bryant and the wonderful stories of him, lots of them, one of my favorite stories is when he was a young rookie in basketball, still playing the college circuit. So he plays this match and he misses two penalty shots. And as a result of which, his team wins, but they almost lose. So it's not as spectacular or wonderful win that they would have liked. So the commentators now are talking about this and Kobe gets off the stage. He goes and sits on a bench and he is bent forward, holding his head in his hands. His elbows resting on his knees, his head held in his hands. So the commentator says, oh my God, look at Kobe, look at Kobe, look at Kobe. He is absolutely devastated. He's so sad. He must be crying, must be weeping, must be terrible to be in that position. He's just almost, you know, the first time into the game and he missed two. And so on, so on, so on. Now, obviously, all this Kobe is hearing, doesn't react, just sits there. And after some time, he gets up to go when somebody, one of the reporters catches him and he says to him, Kobe must be really upset and you must be, you know, so sad because you're sitting there with your head held in your hands. Kobe says, look, I was sitting there, figuring out what I did wrong. What I did wrong. How did I miss those two baskets? He said, I figured that out. I will never do that again. That's it. He said, where is the question of being sad and this and that? He said, I am figuring out how did I do, how did I make that mistake so that I can, I will never repeat that. So everything matters. Every single thing. You don't get to pick and choose when to show up because the world's will ignore your best and judge you for your worst, says Sahil Bloom. Top performers show up with energy and enthusiasm for the little things just as much as they do for the big things. If you're in the top 10% of performers, there is no ceiling for what you can do. But the self-awareness to identify where you currently stack up and to hear and adapt to that honest feedback on it is very rare. If you are in the top 10%, you know it. If you're not, figure out why and go fix it. Number three, he says, you don't need passion, you need energy. He says, I've always taken issue with the advice to follow your passion. Believe me, I am with him, 100%. This whole thing of follow your passion, what does that even mean? Right? You follow a process. To come back to it, he says, you don't have to be passionate about your professional pursuits. You just need to find energy in them. You just need to feel a pull towards them. You just need to feel that spark of curiosity in them. Passion can lie, but energy never does. When you have energy for something, you're prone to giving your deep attention to learn more about it, to ask the right question and questions to figure it out and to win. So, forget passion. Think energy. Think process. You're only as good as your process. You're not as good as you think. You're not even as good as your education. You're only as good as your process. I ask Allah SWT to help us to do what pleases Him and to save us from that which does not please Him. Wasallamu ala nabiyyil kareem wa ala alihi wa sahbihi ajma'in wa rahmatikarir marraheem. Alhamdulillah.
